ZINOX FOUNDER LAUNCHES AI CENTRES IN LAGOS SCHOOLS
The founder of Zinox Group, Leo Stan Ekeh, has commissioned artificial intelligence technology centres at two secondary schools in Lagos as part of efforts to expand access to digital education and develop technology skills among young Nigerians.
The centres were established by the Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation in collaboration with companies within the Zinox Group, including Task Systems, TD Africa, Zinox Technologies and Konga Group. They are located at Gbagada Senior Grammar School and Lanre Awolokun High School in Gbagada, Lagos.
Each centre is equipped with Zinox all-in-one desktop computers, interactive AI-enabled screens, renewable energy systems and two years of satellite internet connectivity through Starlink.
The facilities are designed to give students and teachers access to digital learning resources and online educational platforms while supporting the integration of technology into classroom activities.
Speaking during the commissioning, Ekeh urged students to take advantage of the facilities and develop skills that could help them compete in the global economy.
He also called on governments to increase investment in education and improve teachers’ welfare, stressing the importance of well-supported educators to quality learning.
The foundation announced plans to provide full university scholarships and advanced technology training to students who distinguish themselves academically.
According to the foundation, it is also working towards producing 1,000 technology-skilled young Nigerians with globally recognised qualifications. The organisation said its latest projects bring the number of education and technology interventions it has undertaken across Nigeria to 123 over the past 38 years.
