Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Sarkin Zamfaran Zurmi, Alhaji Bello Sulaiman, describing the late traditional ruler’s passing as a significant loss to the state.

Sulaiman died on Monday at the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris.

Governor Lawal described the deceased as a respected monarch who made valuable contributions to his community and the traditional institution during his lifetime.

The governor particularly commended Sulaiman for his commitment to promoting peace and development in Zamfara State, noting that his service to the people of Zurmi would remain part of his legacy.

Lawal said the death was not only a loss to the deceased’s immediate family but also to the Zurmi Emirate, the traditional institution and the wider people of Zamfara State.

He extended his condolences to the family of the late monarch, the Zurmi Emirate Council and residents of the emirate, urging them to find strength during the period of mourning.

The governor also prayed for the repose of Sulaiman’s soul, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, reward his good deeds and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.

Lawal further prayed that God would give the bereaved family and the people of Zurmi the strength and fortitude to cope with what he described as an irreparable loss.
