Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has taken a nostalgic trip down memory lane, expressing her deep admiration for iconic movie star Genevieve Nnaji.

In a recent Instagram post, Yvonne shared a throwback video clip from a movie they both featured in back in 2007. She revealed that this particular movie marked a turning point in her life — as she left straight from the movie set to the airport to pursue further studies abroad, stepping away from Nollywood for five years.

“This matter long ooo,” she wrote in the caption. “From this movie set, I went straight to the airport. I even almost missed my flight. This movie is why I always adore Genevieve—she was too kind and sweet to me on this project.”

Yvonne described Genevieve as incredibly warm and pleasant, and said her kindness during the filming left a lasting impression that has stayed with her ever since.

Though she couldn’t recall the name of the movie, the emotional memory clearly remains vivid.

Meanwhile, Genevieve Nnaji’s graceful presence continues to leave an impact on those around her. Nicole Chikwe, wife of Nigerian rapper Naeto C, also shared her own experience, admitting she still gets starstruck around Genevieve—even after knowing her for over a decade.

In a video seen online, Nicole recalled unexpectedly bumping into Genevieve at a café in Ikoyi, Lagos. She said that even though they greeted each other, the moment felt surreal.

“I bowed and said, ‘My queen, I’m not worthy to be in your presence,’” Nicole confessed, describing how overwhelmed she felt.
