YUL EDOCHIE PAYS EMOTIONAL TRIBUTE TO ALEX EKUBO, DESCRIBES DEATH AS “PAINFUL AND HARD TO ACCEPT”
Veteran Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has reacted to reports surrounding the passing of fellow actor Alex Ekubo, describing the news as deeply painful and difficult to come to terms with.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Edochie expressed shock over what he referred to as a “very painful exit,” while also submitting to what he described as the will of God.
He referred to Ekubo as both a friend and a brother, praising his personality, warmth, and the positive energy he brought to every space he entered.
According to him, the late actor had a natural ability to brighten rooms with his presence, a quality that made him well-loved within the Nigerian film industry and beyond.
Edochie noted that Ekubo’s life was one that impacted many people positively, leaving behind memories that would remain significant in Nollywood for years to come.
While mourning the loss, he also reflected on the importance of celebrating the life the actor lived, describing him as a “great soul” whose influence went beyond the screen.
He added that although the industry is in mourning, it also has reason to honour and remember the legacy Ekubo left behind through his work and relationships.
The actor concluded his tribute by expressing faith in what he called divine will, stating that believers must accept life and death as part of God’s plan, “the author and finisher.”
The emotional reaction has since drawn responses from fans and colleagues, as tributes continue to pour in across the entertainment industry over the reported passing of Alex Ekubo.
