YPP CANDIDATE AGADA: TINUBU’S 90-DAY COST-OF-LIVING PLAN IS ‘MIND GAMES’
Young Progressives Party presidential candidate Peter Agada has criticised the Federal Government’s 90-day plan to ease living costs, describing it as an election strategy rather than a convincing response to Nigerians’ hardship.
Speaking in Abuja, Agada said the administration had announced several economic interventions without delivering the relief citizens expected.
His comments followed Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele’s announcement of the new action plan.
Agada argued that the government’s economic team had failed to adequately address the pressures facing households and businesses.
He pointed to earlier promises involving petrol-price relief and the removal of illegal levies, alleging that implementation had fallen short.
The YPP candidate particularly questioned the relationship between the proposed timeline and the approaching election.
Citing his own calculation that the poll was 85 days away, he asked why the government was offering a 90-day relief programme that would extend beyond voting day.
“So, after the election, what happens? These guys are playing mind games,” he said.
Agada maintained that Nigerians should assess the administration by the results of its previous measures rather than fresh promises.
His criticism reflects the YPP candidate’s assessment of the programme. The account provided did not include a government response to his remarks.
