Popular skit maker Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Amuzie, popularly known as Brain Jotter, has mourned the passing of highlife music legend Mike Ejeagha, declaring that his “melody lives forever.”

Brain Jotter had helped revive interest in Ejeagha’s music last year by sparking a viral dance challenge centered on the icon’s 1983 classic, GwoGwoNgwo, which featured prominently in one of his comedy skits.

In a tribute shared on Instagram, Brain Jotter posted a video from his 2023 visit to Ejeagha’s Enugu residence. He praised the late musician’s timeless artistry, noting that Ejeagha created “magic 39 years ago” and that people are still dancing to it today.

Mike Ejeagha passed away on Friday at the Military Hospital in Enugu after a prolonged battle with prostate cancer, which he had fought for 16 years. Despite his passing, Brain Jotter expressed confidence that the music legend's influence will endure for generations.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
