An unidentified young man running a Point-of-Sale (POS) business was fatally shot by armed robbers at his workplace in Gboko, the headquarters of Gboko Local Government Area in Benue State.

The shocking incident occurred on Monday, leaving residents in grief and disbelief.

Sources reported that the victim was attending to customers when the assailants suddenly stormed the location and opened fire. The young man, who relied on the POS business to make a living, was shot during the attack.

The robbers reportedly escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.

An eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described the incident as sudden and terrifying. “It happened so fast. We never imagined such violence here,” the witness said.

Residents of the community have expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, describing the victim as a hardworking young man striving to earn a living. Many have extended condolences to the bereaved family, praying for strength and comfort during this difficult time.

Efforts to reach the Benue State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Udeme Edet, for confirmation were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report. However, sources indicate that investigations into the attack have already begun.
