“YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE ELECTRICITY — GHANAIAN YOUTUBER SHELDON MOCKS NIGERIA AFTER WORLD CUP FAILURE”
Ghanaian YouTuber and social media personality Kwadwo Sheldon has taken a swipe at Nigeria following the Super Eagles’ failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In a sarcastic jab widely circulated on social media, Sheldon mocked Nigeria’s persistent power supply issues while questioning how the country expected to compete on the world’s biggest football stage.
“You don’t have electricity, yet you want to go to the World Cup. How would your citizens even watch you?” he said.
His comments sparked mixed reactions across platforms, with many Nigerians criticizing the remark as insensitive, while some Ghanaians found humor in the banter. Others argued that the mockery crosses the line, especially considering both countries often struggle with similar infrastructural and sporting challenges.
Sheldon, known for his bold commentary and controversial takes, has a long history of engaging in Nigeria–Ghana rivalry banter, especially around music, football, and pop culture.
