Veteran movie marketer, Akeem Olatunji Balogun, popularly known as Olasco Films, has described actors Okunnu and Austin Emmanuel as ingrates.

He made the statement while responding to allegations leveled against him by the actors in a recent interview.

Okunnu had recently accused Olasco Films of pocketing all the earnings from a movie he produced for him 16 years ago. “I haven’t forgiven Olasco,” Okunnu stated.

This follows claims by actor Austin Emmanuel, who alleged that Olasco Films and his associate, Toymax Films, blacklisted him in the industry. Austin, who has been away from the screen for several years, also accused Toymax of misconduct involving his girlfriend, Aisha Raji.

In response, Olasco, speaking to actor Tunde Ola-Yusuf, called both Okunnu and Austin Emmanuel ungrateful. He clarified that he had provided Okunnu with N2 million to produce the movie and detailed his support for Austin Emmanuel’s career.

“Okunnu is like a blind man using a walking stick; when he regained his sight, he threw it away. That’s who he is—to claim he worked for me without pay is false. He collected N2 million from me to produce the movie 16 years ago, while production costs at that time ranged from N700,000 to N1 million,” Olasco said.

He added, “Austin Emmanuel wants to trend by using my name. I helped him advertise the very movie that made him famous, so he’s an ingrate.”
