Renowned Nollywood actor Olusegun Akinremi, popularly known as Chief Kanran, has passed away.

The veteran actor reportedly died on Friday morning at the age of 72.

His death was confirmed by filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi, who shared the news via an Instagram post.
“Popular actor, Segun Remi died Friday morning,” the post read.

As of the time of this report, the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.

Chief Kanran was a prominent figure in the Yoruba film industry and was notably recognized for his role as General Philips in episode 13 of the now-defunct TV series Megafortune.
