Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, has highlighted the stark disparity between men’s and women’s football, noting that female players do not earn nearly as much as their male counterparts.

Speaking on the Leadership Podcast hosted by Stephen Akintayo, the Paris Saint-Germain forward acknowledged that while women’s football has seen progress over the past decade, the financial gap remains significant.

“Female football is not as rewarding as male football. The financial reward is not even close,” Ajibade said. “To be honest, the narrative is changing compared to 10–12 years ago. Every year there is improvement, which we appreciate, but the gap is still really wide from male football.”

She attributed the inequality to limited awareness and lack of sponsorship for women’s football, stressing the need for increased investment and support to help bridge the divide.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
