WOMEN’S EURO 2025: ENGLAND AND ITALY BOOK SPOTS IN SEMI-FINALS
The Women’s Euro 2025 is heating up, and two big names — England and Italy — have officially secured their spots in the semi-finals after dramatic quarter-final victories.
The Lionesses of England had to dig deep to overcome a two-goal deficit against a strong Sweden side. The Swedes looked set to cruise to victory after Kosovare Asllani and Stina Blackstenius found the net in the first half, giving them a 2-0 lead.
But England came roaring back in the second half. In a stunning two-minute spell, Lucy Bronze and Michelle Agyemang scored to bring the game level. With no winner after extra time, it all came down to penalties — and England held their nerve, edging out Sweden 3-2 in the shootout.
Meanwhile, Italy also secured a semi-final spot after a hard-fought 2-1 win over Norway. Their victory sets up an exciting clash against England in the final four on Tuesday.
Fans can expect fireworks when these two European heavyweights meet for a place in the grand finale.
