WOMAN ARRESTED BY POLICE OVER ALLEGED N10M THEFT IN KATSINA
The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 27‑year‑old woman, identified as Hadiza Ibrahim, in connection with the alleged theft of goods valued at more than N10 million from a retail outlet in Katsina metropolis.
Police said the arrest followed a report on March 4, 2026, by the Chief Security Officer of the Green House shopping mall, who alerted authorities about a suspected shoplifter. CCTV footage reviewed by police reportedly showed the woman removing various items from the store without paying, leading officers to track and apprehend her at the scene.
According to the state police spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, the stolen goods included multiple consumer items, and the total loss was estimated at about ₦10,102,000. The suspect is expected to face charges as the case proceeds through the legal process.
