WIOCC Group has secured a combined $300m investment from the Africa Finance Corporation and Saudi Arabia-based Vision International Investment Company to expand digital infrastructure across Africa.

The investment follows the signing of a Shareholder Subscription Agreement between WIOCC and the two investors at the LEAP 2026 Global Technology exhibition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The funds will support the expansion of fibre networks, data centres and subsea connectivity infrastructure needed to meet Africa’s growing demand for internet, cloud and digital services.

WIOCC Group Chief Executive Officer, Chris Wood, said stronger and more scalable digital infrastructure would be essential as demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other digital services continues to increase across the continent.

Africa Finance Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer, Samaila Zubairu, also described digital infrastructure as increasingly important to economic development, alongside traditional networks such as transport and energy.

WIOCC operates across more than 30 African countries and provides connectivity infrastructure to telecommunications companies, cloud providers and other digital businesses.

The investment is expected to strengthen the company’s expansion plans and support wider efforts to improve Africa’s digital connectivity, data capacity and participation in the global digital economy.
