WIKKI TOURISTS DEFENDER DIES IN AUTO CRASH
Wikki Tourists FC has announced the death of its defender, Kabiru Mohammed, following a fatal road accident along the Zaria–Gusau highway.
In a statement posted on the club’s official Facebook page on Thursday, Wikki Tourists described the incident as a tragic loss to the club and the football community.
“The club is deeply saddened to announce the tragic death of Mohammed following a fatal accident along the Zaria–Gusau road,” the statement said.
Mohammed joined Wikki Tourists from Lobi Stars FC during the 2025/2026 season and became an important figure in the club’s defensive line.
The club said he was widely respected for his commitment, discipline, and passion for football.
According to Wikki Tourists, his final appearance came on May 19, 2026, during a President’s Federation Cup match against Jigawa Golden Stars Junior Team at Nasara Stadium in Zaria.
“The Management, Technical Crew, Players and supporters of Wikki Tourists FC extend heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the entire football community over this painful loss,” the club stated.
The Bauchi-based side added that Mohammed’s dedication and contributions to the team would remain memorable.
His death has drawn condolences from football stakeholders, teammates, and supporters, who have paid tribute to his service and commitment to the game.
