Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has inaugurated a pedestrian bridge constructed by Dunamis International Gospel Centre in Abuja.

Speaking at the ceremony on Friday, Wike said the church first applied for permission to build the bridge in 2018 but received approval only after submitting a reminder in February 2026.

According to the minister, the application was approved within a month of that reminder.

Dunamis founder Pastor Paul Enenche thanked Wike for granting permission, saying the church had spent years seeking approval for the project.

Wike also urged Nigerians to recognise government achievements while continuing to demand accountability when officials fall short.

“If a government does well, say they’ve done well. If they’ve not done well, you can say we’re looking forward to you doing this,” he said.

The event included an exchange over political remarks after Wike revealed that Enenche had asked him not to campaign during the ceremony.

The minister responded that discussions about governance were also political, noting that the pastor addressed poor governance in his sermons.

The ceremony marked the opening of the church-funded bridge following the prolonged approval process.
