WIKE SAYS HE’S READY TO LOSE JOB IF DOING THE RIGHT THING COSTS HIM
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that he would not hesitate to lose his job if it means standing by what is right.
Speaking on Thursday at a media briefing following the FCT Executive Committee meeting, Wike emphasized his commitment to integrity and public service. His remarks come days after a confrontation between him, FCT officials, and soldiers in Abuja over access to a disputed land.
Wike stated, “As far as my conscience is clear that I’m doing the right thing, I will do it. If it costs me my job, it’s okay. Did I perform? Yes, I did. Will history remember me? Yes. I will continue to step on toes too.”
The FCT Minister’s statement underscores his resolve to uphold lawful and ethical governance, even in the face of potential personal or political consequences.
Wike’s stance has sparked discussions about leadership, accountability, and the importance of standing firm in public office, even when confronted with resistance or controversy.
