WIKE PROMISES TO COMPLETE FCT PROJECTS BEFORE 2027
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has assured that all capital projects started under President Bola Tinubu’s administration in Abuja will be completed before the end of the administration’s tenure.
Wike gave the assurance during his monthly media chat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he highlighted the progress recorded on infrastructure projects across the Federal Capital Territory.
The minister said 107 capital projects had been commissioned under the Tinubu administration, with 76 already completed. He added that 10 more projects would be commissioned before the January 2027 elections, while the remaining projects would be completed before the end of the administration’s tenure.
Wike also disclosed that the FCT Administration had made progress on projects inherited from previous governments.
According to him, 23 of the 25 projects inherited from former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration had been completed, while work was ongoing on the remaining two.
He added that six of eight projects inherited from the administrations of former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua had also been completed.
The minister said the administration remained focused on delivering infrastructure projects under the Renewed Hope Agenda and ensuring that ongoing projects do not remain abandoned.
Wike also challenged critics to compare the pace of infrastructure development under the current administration with previous governments, insisting that Abuja had witnessed significant development under President Tinubu.
