The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has appointed Mr Sani Musa Daura as his Senior Special Assistant on Protocol Matters.

The appointment was announced on Wednesday in a statement issued by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.

According to the statement, Daura is a seasoned civil servant with over 30 years of experience in the FCTA Protocol Department, where he has built a long career in managing official engagements and high-level government protocols.

Daura, who was appointed Director of FCT Protocol in 2019, is expected to retire from the civil service on January 24, 2026. The statement noted that his new appointment as Senior Special Assistant on Protocol Matters will take effect immediately after his retirement.

The minister’s media aide said the appointment reflects confidence in Daura’s vast experience and institutional knowledge, which are expected to further strengthen protocol operations within the FCT Administration.

The development comes as part of ongoing efforts by the FCT Minister to ensure efficiency and professionalism in the handling of official duties and engagements within the nation’s capital.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
