WHY MAN UNITED WON’T SIGN OSIMHEN – FABRIZIO ROMANO EXPLAINS

Top football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has shed light on why Manchester United are unlikely to pursue Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen this summer, despite heavy speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano explained that financial factors—particularly Osimhen’s hefty salary demands—are the major stumbling block. According to him, while Osimhen’s name keeps popping up among top clubs during the transfer window, the Red Devils have not shown serious interest because the figures simply don’t fit into their current wage structure.

Osimhen, who is on a €12 million net annual salary at Napoli, is set to secure an even more lucrative deal. Turkish giants Galatasaray are reportedly offering to increase his pay to around €16 million per season, which would make him one of Europe’s highest-paid players once the deal is finalized in the coming days.

“Many of you are asking me if Manchester United can try to hijack this deal,” Romano said. “I am not aware of Manchester United entering into this one—not just because of the €75 million transfer fee, but also because of the salary. The real sticking point with Premier League clubs last summer and again this summer has always been about Osimhen’s wages.”

The renowned journalist stressed that Osimhen’s financial package is on a completely different level compared to what Manchester United typically pay, making it impractical under their current system.

Meanwhile, Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, seems poised to make his stay permanent. The Turkish club is reportedly eager to wrap up the deal soon, further ending any faint hopes Man United fans may have had of seeing the Super Eagles star at Old Trafford.

As things stand, United will have to look elsewhere to bolster their attack, while Osimhen appears set to continue dazzling fans in Turkey—now with an even fatter paycheck.
