WE’LL VOTE TINUBU OUT IN 2027, NOT TOPPLE HIM — EX-MINISTER ADAMU WAZIRI
Former Minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Waziri, has made it clear that he and many Nigerians are determined to remove the Bola Tinubu-led administration through democratic means — not by any unconstitutional tactics.
Speaking on a Channels TV programme, Waziri stated that if there were a legitimate, democratic process available right now to change the government, he wouldn’t waste a day to act on it.
“If I have the democratic means to remove this government tomorrow, I would remove this government,” Waziri said bluntly. “But I don’t have such means, so I have to wait for two years to do so.”
He emphasized that the opposition is prepared to use the ballot box in the next general elections to bring about change, dismissing claims by presidential aides that there is a plot to overthrow the current administration.
“It is cheap blackmail to say people are planning to oust the government. We are challenging this government through democratic means. We are going to democratically remove this government,” Waziri added.
His comments come amid growing tension and allegations from some quarters in the presidency suggesting that opposition figures were secretly planning to topple the government. Waziri pushed back strongly against these claims, describing them as mere distractions from the real issues affecting Nigerians.
The former minister urged citizens to stay focused on using their votes when the time comes, insisting that only democratic engagement — not chaos — will deliver the leadership change many desire.
