Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli has opened up about the secret behind her long-lasting 24-year marriage to her husband, Nnamdi Oboli.

In an interview with media host Chude Jideonwo, Omoni revealed that the couple made a powerful decision before tying the knot — divorce was never going to be an option.

“From the very beginning, we decided that divorce was not on the table. That commitment helped us stay strong even during tough times,” she shared.

The actress said their first year of marriage was rocky, but the mindset of sticking together helped them push through. Omoni also emphasized the role of forgiveness in keeping their relationship healthy.

“There’s almost nothing someone can do that you can’t forgive if you truly want to. We’re all flawed, and marriage needs grace,” she added.

Omoni recalled how their love story started fast and unexpected — Nnamdi proposed just two weeks after they met, and they were married within four months.

Looking back, she admitted she was young and uncertain, but Nnamdi’s deep and caring love won her over.

Her husband, Nnamdi, also shared advice for young couples. He encouraged partners to take full responsibility for their relationships rather than expecting the marriage to “just work out.”

“Marriage won’t succeed by chance. You are the relationship. You have to put in the effort,” he said.

Together, the Obolis are a shining example of love, patience, and commitment — and a reminder that intentional choices can build lasting bonds.
