‘WE ARE NOT GIVING UP UNTIL THE END’ – TROOST-EKONG INSPIRES SUPER EAGLES
Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has reaffirmed the team’s determination to secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Nigerian side, currently three points behind joint Group C leaders Benin Republic and South Africa, will face Lesotho and Benin in their final qualifying matches.
To advance, the three-time African champions must win both games and hope their group rivals drop points.
Troost-Ekong expressed confidence in the team’s chances, emphasizing their fighting spirit and belief.
“We’re optimistic and we’re always going to fight till the end,” he said in an interview with the Super Eagles media team.
“We believe, and we’re never going to stop believing. Two important games ahead—Friday is the first one, and then we return home to face the next challenge. Our focus right now is on Lesotho.”
