As excitement builds for the WAFCON 2024 final in Morocco, Super Falcons midfielder Halimat Ayinde has made it clear: Nigeria is ready to reclaim the trophy.

The Falcons will face host nation Morocco in the final today (Saturday) at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, in what promises to be a fiery rematch.

Nigeria, the most successful team in WAFCON history, lost their title three years ago in Morocco after falling to the Atlas Lionesses in a dramatic semi-final penalty shootout. South Africa went on to lift the trophy, defeating Morocco 2-1 in the final.

Now, Ayinde says the Falcons are fully focused and united in their mission to bring the trophy back home.

“This final is not going to be different. We are going to stick together as a team and fight for each other,” the 31-year-old told CAFonline.

Ayinde, who plays club football in Sweden for Rosenborg, emphasized that the team has learned from past setbacks and is more determined than ever to make Nigeria proud again.

The Super Falcons are chasing their 10th WAFCON title, and fans across Nigeria are hoping they can finish the job in style tonight.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
