WAEC RECRUITMENT TEST SPARKS COMPLAINTS

Applicants who participated in the West African Examinations Council’s 2026 recruitment exercise have complained about technical problems and difficulties accessing the computer-based aptitude test.

Some candidates alleged that network failures and problems with the examination portal prevented them from taking the test or completing the process. Others said they received notifications about the examination without clear information on the time or venue.

One applicant said he travelled to his state capital for the test but could not find WAEC officials at the venue. He later reported being unable to access the examination portal before eventually being told that his test had already been completed.

Other applicants also complained about difficulties accessing the list of shortlisted candidates and errors showing that their details were invalid.

The complaints have raised fresh concerns about the recruitment process, particularly the use of an online system for a large number of applicants.

However, WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, Moyosola Adesina, dismissed the allegations of technical problems, saying the recruitment examination was conducted successfully and concluded without glitches.

The controversy comes months after WAEC faced a separate dispute involving staff unions over recruitment procedures and welfare issues.
