VIDEO: POLICE RAID CRIMINAL HIDEOUTS IN ANAMBRA METRO PLUS
The Anambra State Police Command has intensified joint security operations in forests, bushes and suspected criminal hideouts to tackle kidnapping, armed robbery and other violent crimes.
Police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, saying the operations were guided by intelligence on identified security flashpoints.
The exercise is led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, ACP Harrison Oruruo, and involves other security agencies and Aguanachemba operatives.
Ikenga said officers were searching suspected hideouts to disrupt criminal networks and prevent those involved from regrouping or moving into other areas.
According to him, the operation forms part of a continuing strategy to deny criminals safe havens and protect lives and property.
Commissioner of Police Nnanna Ama said the raids would be sustained through intelligence-led policing and cooperation among security agencies.
He assured residents that the command would maintain its efforts to enable people to carry out lawful activities without fear or intimidation.
The statement did not announce any arrests, recoveries or casualties from the latest exercise.
