UZODINMA, OTTI MEET TO DISCUSS SOUTH-EAST DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES
Imo State Governor and Chairman of the South-East Governors Forum, Hope Uzodinma, on Friday visited Abia State Governor Alex Otti to explore collaborative initiatives for the region’s development.
Accompanied by former Imo State Governor Ikedi Ohakim, Uzodinma said the five South-East governors are exchanging ideas on how to improve the welfare of their people. He emphasized that meaningful development in the South-East requires a united front among its governors.

Addressing speculation about political motives, Uzodinma clarified that his visit was a New Year courtesy call and not linked to the 2027 elections. He commended Otti for his governance efforts, noting the importance of collaboration for regional progress.
“We in the South-East are determined to develop the region, and the only way to achieve this is through collaboration,” Uzodinma said. “As Chairman of the South-East Governors Forum, I have a responsibility to engage with my colleagues, share ideas, and determine the best ways to support our people. The five of us are committed to ensuring that the South-East remains an integral part of Nigeria, and that is our focus.”
Governor Otti, the host, expressed gratitude for the visit and reiterated that political differences should not be viewed as opposition. He affirmed that the meeting was purely focused on regional development.
