UZODIMMA CALLS FOR UNITY AND PROGRESS AS IMO STATE MARKS 50 YEARS
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has urged residents to embrace unity, inclusivity, and continued support for development as the state celebrates its 50th anniversary.
In a statement shared on his official X account on Tuesday, the governor described the milestone as a moment to reflect on achievements and look forward to greater progress.
“We have come a long way in our journey of progress, steadily building a State that offers hope, opportunity, safety, and stability for every Imolite,” Uzodimma said.
He highlighted that the state’s growth has been the result of collective effort and resilience, noting that despite challenges, Imo has entered a phase of transformation marked by visible development.
“Through thick and thin, we have driven this enterprise from its creation to development and now into a phase of transformation, with visible records that reflect our collective effort, commitment, and patriotism,” the governor added.
Uzodimma emphasized that Imo State is richly endowed with human and natural resources, and prudent management and strategic planning have sustained its growth. He also noted his administration’s focus on strengthening institutions, modernizing governance, and improving infrastructure.
“Our golden jubilee is not a mark of aging but a celebration of divine grace and our achievements, even as we aim higher,” he said.
The governor encouraged residents to celebrate the milestone with pride while remaining committed to inclusive growth and progressive development.
“I call on our people to rejoice, not because we have reached the summit, but because we have journeyed far toward prosperity. Let us embrace this path with inclusivity and continue supporting the progressive ideals of our dear Imo State,” Uzodimma stated.
