US ENVOY MIKE WALTZ INVITES NICKI MINAJ TO DISCUSS PROTECTION OF PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS IN NIGERIA

The United States ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, has extended an invitation to award-winning rapper Nicki Minaj to engage in discussions about the protection of persecuted Christians in Nigeria.

The invitation follows Minaj’s recent social media post condemning the alleged persecution of Christians in the West African nation — a statement that quickly went viral and drew international attention.

This development comes shortly after US President Donald Trump designated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern (CPC)”, citing what he described as ongoing “Christian genocide” allegedly perpetrated by Islamist groups in the country.

Following the designation, Trump reportedly directed the US Department of War to “prepare for possible action” against Islamic extremists in Nigeria — a move that has stirred both diplomatic tension and domestic debate.

Reacting to the development, Nicki Minaj took to her X (formerly Twitter) page to express gratitude for the religious freedom enjoyed in the United States while decrying the reported persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

In her post, she said:

“I thank God every day for the freedom to worship and live without fear. My heart breaks for Christians who are being persecuted in Nigeria. No one should die for their faith.”

Ambassador Waltz, responding to Minaj’s statement, praised her for using her platform to speak up for the oppressed and invited her for a deeper conversation about global religious freedom.

“I would love to speak with you in more depth about what our administration is doing to protect Christians’ freedoms all over the world,” Waltz said.
“We can’t allow this to continue. Every sister and brother of Christ must band together and say, ‘Enough!’”

Minaj, known for her influence and outspokenness on global issues, has not yet publicly responded to Waltz’s invitation.

The discussion, if it takes place, could draw more international focus to religious freedom and human rights issues in Nigeria, which remain contentious subjects amid allegations of bias, misinformation, and political exploitation.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
