UK POLICE TO ARRAIGN SUSPECTED KILLER OF NIGERIAN TEENAGER
The Metropolitan Police has announced plans to arraign a 16-year-old boy over the murder of Nigerian teenager, Eghosa Ogbebor.
The suspect, who cannot be named due to legal restrictions, was charged with murder on April 10 and is expected to appear before the Thames Magistrates’ Court.
Ogbebor, a 14-year-old British-Nigerian, was shot dead in the Woolwich area of London on April 2 after police responded to reports of gunfire.
Emergency responders attempted to save him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the suspect was initially arrested on April 4 and released on bail before being re-arrested on April 9 and formally charged.
Investigations are ongoing, with multiple arrests already made in connection with the case. Authorities confirmed that some suspects, including two teenagers and an adult, have been released on bail, while another 16-year-old remains in custody.
The police reiterated their commitment to ensuring justice, noting that inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the killing are still in progress.
