UK-BASED NIGERIAN MAN JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING GIRLFRIEND’S UNDERAGE DAUGHTER
A Nigerian man living in the United Kingdom, Elvis Nosakhare, has been sentenced to six years in prison for sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s underage daughter in what police described as a “disgusting betrayal of trust.”
The 41-year-old met the victim’s mother through an online dating platform, but went on to commit the abuse within the Thames Valley area. After a detailed investigation by the Thames Valley Police Child Abuse Unit, Nosakhare was charged and later found guilty at Aylesbury Crown Court.
He was convicted of two counts of penetrative sexual activity with a minor and three counts of non-penetrative sexual activity. In addition to the six-year prison sentence, the court placed him on the Sex Offenders Register for life and issued a restraining order against him to protect the victim.
Detective Constable Bryn Smith, who led the investigation, praised the young survivor for her bravery throughout the case.
“I want to commend the victim for her bravery throughout both the investigation and court proceedings. I hope that this conviction offers her some sense of justice,” Smith said.
He added that Thames Valley Police remains fully committed to supporting victims and ensuring perpetrators face justice.
Nosakhare, who lived on Sheelin Grove in Bletchley, was sentenced on July 29.
His conviction comes just weeks after another Nigerian, Adewale Kudabo, was jailed for sexually assaulting a patient while working as a healthcare assistant at York Hospital.
Both cases highlight the UK’s zero-tolerance stance on sexual abuse and the continued efforts by law enforcement to protect vulnerable individuals.
