UI HONOURS OLAOSEBIKAN FOR SUPPORTING SPORTS ACADEMY

The University of Ibadan (UI) has honoured Kehinde Olaosebikan for his contributions to the establishment of the institution's Sports Academy.

Olaosebikan received the Iconic Friend of the University of Ibadan Sports Academy Award during a presentation held in Ibadan.

A delegation from the university, led by the Chairman of the UI Sports Academy, Prof Olufemi Adegbesan, presented the award on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Kayode Adebowale.

Adegbesan said the recognition was in appreciation of Olaosebikan's selfless service and contributions towards establishing the Sports Academy.

He added that Olaosebikan's commitment to sports and youth development had helped advance the vision of the academy.

Other members of the university delegation included Prof Nureni Adewole and the Secretary of the UI Sports Academy, Dr Ajijola Mullie.

Reacting to the honour, Olaosebikan, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Midas Communications Limited, thanked the university management for the recognition.

He said his support for the academy was motivated by its focus on sports and youth development.

Olaosebikan also pledged to continue supporting the academy and expressed confidence that it would achieve the University of Ibadan's vision of becoming one of the leading sports academies on the African continent.
