UCL: THIERRY HENRY CRITICISES OSIMHEN’S ‘SELFISHNESS’ DESPITE GALATASARAY’S WIN OVER LIVERPOOL

Arsenal legend and CBS Sports analyst, Thierry Henry, has criticised Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen for being too selfish in Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool on Tuesday night.

Osimhen, who scored the decisive penalty at Rams Park to hand Galatasaray a 1-0 victory, was praised for his finishing but faulted by Henry for missing chances to involve his teammates in potentially bigger scoring opportunities.

Henry argued that while the Super Eagles star delivered under pressure, a little more teamwork could have seen Galatasaray extend their lead against the Premier League champions.

“If Osimhen had been a little less selfish at times, they could have scored a few more goals,” Henry said in his post-match analysis.
“A few times, he might have given the ball away to one of his teammates. But he took the penalty really well.”

Despite his criticism, the Frenchman applauded Galatasaray’s overall performance, highlighting their resilience, counter-attacking strength, and ability to trouble even Europe’s biggest sides.

“On a good day, Galatasaray can beat any team in Europe,” Henry added.
“They really fought for every ball until the end. They played their best on the counter-attack. We have to give them credit.”

Galatasaray’s hard-fought win leaves them in a stronger position in their group, while Osimhen remains both the hero for his goal and a talking point for his decision-making in front of goal.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
