UCL: OSIMHEN ELATED TO SET TWO NEW RECORDS IN GALATASARAY’S WIN OVER BODO/GLIMT
Victor Osimhen has expressed delight after achieving two remarkable milestones during Galatasaray’s 3-1 win over Bodø/Glimt in their UEFA Champions League Matchday 3 clash at the RAMS Park on Wednesday night.
The Nigerian striker opened the scoring just three minutes into the encounter before adding his second in the 63rd minute, helping the Turkish champions secure all three points.
With the brace, Osimhen became the first Galatasaray player to score in seven consecutive European games, surpassing former club legend Burak Yilmaz, with whom he previously shared the record.
The 26-year-old also etched his name into the record books as Galatasaray’s fastest-ever goal scorer in the UEFA Champions League, finding the net inside three minutes.
Speaking to the club’s official website after the match, Osimhen credited his teammates for their role in his success.
“I don’t score these goals alone, I don’t break these records alone. A huge thank you to the team and our fans. We’ll continue to build on this momentum,” he said.
Osimhen’s performance has further cemented his status as one of the most prolific African players currently lighting up European football.
