UCL: MOURINHO REVEALS CHELSEA STAR HE WOULD LOVE TO COACH AT BENFICA
Benfica manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that he would love the chance to coach Chelsea winger Pedro Neto at the Portuguese giants.
Mourinho remarked during his pre-match press conference ahead of Benfica’s Champions League clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
The 62-year-old described Neto as one of the finest wide players in the game today.
“Pedro Neto is one of the best wingers in the world,” Mourinho said.
“Roberto [Martinez] at the [Portugal] national team is very privileged because he has not only Pedro Neto but four or five players of that profile.
At Benfica we don’t have as many. Of course, I would like Pedro Neto, but he is playing in a much different reality from ours, especially financially.”
The Benfica coach also wished the Chelsea star a long, injury-free career and expressed gratitude for Neto’s kind words about him.
Neto Praises Mourinho
Speaking earlier, the 25-year-old Portuguese international praised Mourinho for paving the way for players from Portugal to shine on the global stage.
Neto described Mourinho as a legend of the game and added that it would be a privilege for him to one day play under the veteran manager.
