TWELVE KILLED, 309 INJURED IN DEADLY ATTACK ON RIYADH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Saudi aviation authorities confirm casualties following a missile strike on King Khalid International Airport, marking the third assault on the facility within a week amid rising regional hostilities
At least 12 people have been killed and 309 others injured following a major missile attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) confirmed the casualties in an official statement, noting that the casualties include four Saudi citizens and eight foreign nationals from Bangladesh, the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Sudan.
The strike represents the third targeting of the capital’s international hub within a week as hostilities escalate between Saudi-led coalition forces and Yemen’s Houthi rebels.
According to aviation officials, emergency response teams flooded the airport area immediately following the strike, evacuating travelers and transferring injured victims several of whom remain in critical condition to local medical facilities.
The incident triggered widespread flight cancellations and temporary suspensions of air traffic across key corridors, while technical crews continue assessing structural damages to airport infrastructure.
International leaders condemned the assault on civilian infrastructure, with United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio calling the strike a blatant disregard for innocent human life and reaffirming security support for Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi-led coalition vowed to retaliate against responsible networks, while military analysts warn that the attack underscores a dangerous escalation in cross-border security threats across the region.
