According to Bigiano, Don Jazzy personally asked him if he wanted to join the label, but he turned down the opportunity.

Nigerian singer Oluwagbemiga Babalola, better known as Bigiano, has identified his biggest career regret as refusing Don Jazzy’s offer to join his now-defunct record label, Mo’Hits Records.

Bigiano made this revelation in a recent interview with Cool FM, recounting his considerations in making the decision.

The ‘Shayo’ hitmaker explained that if he got another chance, he would accept the opportunity to join the now-defunct record label that Don Jazzy and D’banj co-founded.

The singer explained that he was made the offer when D'banj, with whom he had a close relationship, invited him to the Mo’Hits house at the peak of his career.

Singer Bigiano has opened up about his biggest regret in the music industry — rejecting Don Jazzy’s personal invitation to join the legendary Mo’Hits Records.

In a reflective interview, the Shayo hitmaker recounted how, at the peak of his success in 2010, he was introduced to the Mo’Hits crew by D’banj and Sunday Are, and later brought to Don Jazzy’s house by Bankulli. It was there that the offer was made.

“Don Jazzy asked me directly if I wanted to join Mo’Hits. But I turned it down,” he said. “At that time, I felt I was doing great on my own. My song was everywhere, I had shows lined up, and I thought joining the label might limit my independence.”

He admitted that he feared being restricted if he joined the team alongside Wande Coal and Dr. Sid, believing it would limit his ability to operate freely. “Instead of saying yes, I told them to keep pushing me like they had been. But looking back, that was a huge mistake,” he confessed.

Bigiano expressed deep admiration for the love and support he received from Don Jazzy, D’banj, and the rest of the Mo’Hits crew, calling it a missed opportunity that could have changed his career trajectory.

“I should’ve said yes. It could’ve been Wande Coal and Bigiano under Mo’Hits — that would have been massive,” he added. “After Wande Coal dropped Mushin 2 Mo’Hits, I remember thinking, ‘How do I compete with this?’ Meanwhile, I was out there struggling on my own.”

He concluded, “If I could rewind time, I’d go back and say yes — not once, but three times.”

Bigiano’s breakout track Shayo, released in 2009, brought him into the limelight and earned him multiple award nominations, including at the MTV Africa Music Awards and the Nigeria Entertainment Awards. The music video also won accolades at the Sound City Music Video Awards.
