TUCHEL NAMES 27-MAN ENGLAND SQUAD FOR NATIONS LEAGUE CAMPAIGN

England manager Thomas Tuchel has announced a 27-man squad for the opening UEFA Nations League fixtures of the 2026–27 season, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer among the notable players returning to the national team. The squad also includes Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lewis Hall, Jarrad Branthwaite, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Rio Ngumoha and Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott.

Jordan Pickford, Jason Steele and James Trafford were selected as the three goalkeepers, while Alexander-Arnold, Branthwaite, Trevoh Chalobah, Marc Guehi, Hall, Ezri Konsa, Tino Livramento, Nico O'Reilly and Jarrell Quansah make up the defensive options. In midfield, Tuchel named Elliot Anderson, Jude Bellingham, Lewis-Skelly, Kobbie Mainoo, Palmer, Declan Rice and Scott.

The forward line features Harry Kane, Calvert-Lewin, Eberechi Eze, Anthony Gordon, Ngumoha, Marcus Rashford, Morgan Rogers and Bukayo Saka. Ngumoha and Scott are among the players who have been brought into the senior setup as Tuchel reshapes his squad following the World Cup.

Several established names have been left out of the squad. John Stones, Dan Burn, Djed Spence and Reece James are among the absentees, while Jordan Henderson, Noni Madueke, Ivan Toney and Ollie Watkins also miss out. Some of the omissions are linked to injuries, while Toney and Watkins have moved to Saudi Arabia.

England will begin their new Nations League campaign against world champions Spain at Wembley on September 26 before travelling to Prague to face Czechia three days later. Tuchel's side will then play Croatia in Rijeka on October 3 before hosting Czechia at Wembley on October 6 as the Three Lions begin their first international window of the new season.
