TROOPS RESCUE TWO VICTIMS FROM ZAMFARA TERRORISTS
Joint military and security operatives successfully intercept criminal elements in the northwest region, freeing kidnapped individuals and recovering tactical gear
Nigerian security forces operating in Zamfara State have successfully rescued two kidnapped victims following a targeted clearance operation against terrorist hideouts in the region.
According to military intelligence briefings, the rescue operation was launched after troops received actionable intelligence regarding the movement of armed bandits holding captives within a remote forest enclave.
Upon storming the identified camp, the troops engaged the insurgents in a brief gunfight, forcing the criminals to abandon their hostages and flee deeper into the dense foliage with varying degrees of gunshot wounds.
The rescued victims, who sustained minor exhaustion and trauma, were immediately evacuated to a military medical facility for psychological evaluation, health stabilization, and subsequent reunion with their families.
During the sweep of the camp, security operatives recovered several rounds of ammunition, communication gadgets, and personal belongings abandoned by the fleeing terrorists.
Field commanders commended the gallantry of the troops involved and urged local communities to maintain vigilance, emphasizing that timely intelligence sharing remains critical to sustaining the ongoing offensive against criminal syndicates across the northwest corridor.
