TROOPS RESCUE SIX KIDNAP VICTIMS, ARREST TERROR SUSPECTS IN NORTH-EAST OPERATIONS
The Nigerian Army has rescued six abducted persons and arrested suspected terror collaborators during a series of security operations carried out across parts of North-East Nigeria.
Military authorities said the operations formed part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts aimed at dismantling criminal networks and restoring security in communities affected by insurgency activities.
According to security sources, troops conducted coordinated raids and patrols in identified hotspots where armed groups and their collaborators were believed to be operating.
During the operations, six victims who had reportedly been held captive by suspected terrorists were rescued and reunited with authorities for medical attention and debriefing.
The army also confirmed the arrest of individuals suspected of providing logistical and intelligence support to terrorist groups operating within the region.
Recovered items reportedly included materials believed to be linked to insurgent activities, although further investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of involvement of those arrested.
Military officials noted that intensified intelligence gathering and collaboration with local communities have continued to strengthen operations against insurgency in the North-East.
The latest development comes as security agencies sustain efforts to weaken terror networks and improve safety in communities previously affected by attacks and abductions.
Authorities urged residents to continue supporting security operations by providing timely and credible information capable of aiding ongoing counterterrorism activities.
