TROOPS RESCUE KIDNAPPED WOMAN IN KEBBI, PREVENT RANSOM DELIVERY

Nigerian Army troops have rescued a woman who was abducted in Kebbi State and prevented an attempt by her family to deliver ransom to the kidnappers.

The operation was carried out after security personnel received intelligence concerning the movement of the abductors and the planned payment. Troops moved to intercept the criminals before the ransom could reach them, forcing the kidnappers to abandon their victim and flee.

The rescued woman was subsequently taken to safety and is receiving necessary attention following her ordeal in captivity. The military said the operation demonstrates the effectiveness of intelligence-driven efforts in tackling kidnapping and other criminal activities across the North-West.

Security agencies have intensified operations in Kebbi and neighbouring states as part of wider efforts to dismantle criminal networks operating in the region. Intelligence gathering and rapid response have remained central to recent operations targeting kidnappers and bandits.

The successful intervention also prevented the criminals from obtaining financial resources that could have been used to sustain their operations or facilitate further abductions.
