TROOPS RESCUE 86 ABDUCTED PERSONS, ARREST 29 BOKO HARAM SUPPLIERS IN BORNO
Troops under Operation Hadin Kai have successfully rescued 86 kidnapped persons and apprehended 29 suspected logistics suppliers linked to Boko Haram during coordinated operations in Borno State.
According to a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, the operation was executed by troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion under Sector 2 on November 9, 2025.
The statement revealed that the troops encountered Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters at Dutse Kura after receiving intelligence that the insurgents were abducting civilians and vehicles along the Buratai–Kamuya road.
The soldiers reportedly engaged the terrorists, thwarted the abduction attempt, and pursued them toward Mangari, where they overpowered the insurgents in a follow-up battle near a temporary camp.
“During the clearance operation, troops discovered 11 terrorists’ hideouts and rescued 86 kidnapped victims, including men, women, and children,” the statement read.
Recovered items included one AK-47 rifle, five magazines containing 73 rounds, four PKT ammunition belts, five civilian vehicles, five motorcycles, eight bicycles, and two logistics tricycles. The army confirmed that the terrorists’ camp was demolished after the operation.
In a separate mission, troops stationed at Mangada intercepted and arrested 29 suspected logistics suppliers heading to Chilaria with two pickup vans and a tricycle loaded with approximately 1,000 litres of petrol, four gallons of engine oil, two new gun truck tyres, medical supplies, and large quantities of foodstuffs.
The military authorities praised the troops for their bravery and professionalism, urging them to maintain the offensive and continue denying terrorists freedom of operation across the North-East region.
