TROOPS RECOVER STOLEN CATTLE, DESTROY BANDITS’ MOTORCYCLES IN ZAMFARA
Security forces in Zamfara State have successfully recovered a herd of cattle stolen by bandits and destroyed eight of their motorcycles during a swift operation in Anka Local Government Area (LGA).
The action followed a deadly attack by bandits on communities in Bakura LGA on Tuesday. By Wednesday afternoon, troops responded with a counter-operation, intercepting the fleeing attackers in Anka.
According to a report shared by security analyst Bakatsine on X, the stolen livestock were safely recovered and later handed over to the Chairman of Bakura LGA.
“Troops in Anka LGA recovered cattle stolen by bandits during yesterday’s attack on Bakura communities. They also destroyed 8 motorcycles used by the bandits,” the post read.
This development marks another small win in the ongoing battle against banditry in the state, where communities continue to face frequent attacks.
Residents have commended the troops for their swift response and urged the government to sustain pressure on criminal gangs terrorizing rural areas.
