TROOPS OF OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA RESCUE FOUR KIDNAP VICTIMS IN COORDINATED OPERATIONS ACROSS ZAMFARA AND KEBBI STATES
Military personnel respond to emergency distress calls and intercept moving terrorist bands to secure the release of abducted citizens in Maru and Danko-Wasagu Local Government Areas
Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North-West Operation Fansan Yamma, have rescued four kidnapped victims following separate intelligence-driven counter-terrorism operations across Zamfara and Kebbi states.
In Zamfara State, troops deployed in Maru Local Government Area responded swiftly to reports of an ongoing terrorist attack on farmland across a river in the Binoni Marafa community. The tactical intervention led to the successful rescue of two victims, identified as Mansur Shehu, 25, and Kadijat Haruna, 49.
Concurrently, in Kebbi State, military units acting on actionable intelligence intercepted suspected terrorists transporting abducted persons from Dupindu Village within the Kanya District of Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area. During the search-and-rescue operation conducted between Bena and Sawade, troops secured the release of Jimoh Su-Arege, 35, and Kalahe Danjuma, 41.
Military authorities confirmed that the rescued individuals in Kebbi were handed over to community leadership in Dipindu, while troops have intensified aggressive patrols and surveillance across rural corridors in both states to deny criminal groups freedom of movement and restore stability to vulnerable agricultural areas.
