Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have arrested four individuals suspected of acting as informants for bandits in Augie Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The arrests were disclosed by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama in a post on his X account.

According to security sources, the suspects were apprehended around 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday following credible intelligence regarding their alleged activities within the Augie area.

The operation was carried out by troops of 1 Battalion (Rear) in collaboration with forest rangers, with the suspects taken into custody without resistance.

They remain in custody as investigations continue to determine their specific roles and any potential links to criminal networks.

Calm has since been restored in the area, with residents urged to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements or activities.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
