TROOPS KILL TERRORISTS, RECOVER WEAPONS IN KATSINA, SOKOTO, PLATEAU
Nigerian troops have killed several suspected terrorists and recovered weapons during operations in Katsina, Sokoto and Plateau states, according to the military.
The operations were carried out as part of ongoing efforts by the armed forces to disrupt terrorist and criminal networks and improve security across the affected areas.
Military authorities said troops conducted operations based on intelligence and engaged suspected terrorists at different locations.
Several weapons and other items believed to be linked to the groups were recovered during the operations.
The military said the successful operations demonstrated the continued efforts of security forces to track down criminal elements and prevent them from carrying out attacks against communities.
In Katsina and Sokoto, troops reportedly sustained operations against terrorist groups operating in parts of the states, while similar efforts were carried out in Plateau to address security threats.
The military said its personnel would continue to conduct offensive and intelligence-driven operations against terrorists and other criminal groups.
Residents in the affected communities were urged to remain vigilant and provide useful information to security agencies that could assist ongoing operations.
The latest development comes amid continued security challenges in parts of northern and central Nigeria, where terrorist and armed groups have remained a major concern.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to protecting civilians and restoring peace in affected communities.
