TROOPS ELIMINATE 9 TERRORISTS, TAKE DOWN 2 NOTORIOUS KINGPINS IN KATSINA–ZAMFARA RAID
Nigerian troops have recorded a major success in ongoing security operations across the North-West, neutralizing nine terrorists and eliminating two high-profile bandit leaders during coordinated missions in Katsina State and Zamfara State.
According to military sources, the operations targeted known criminal hideouts and were carried out as part of intensified efforts to restore peace in the region. The two kingpins killed were reportedly behind a series of violent attacks, kidnappings, and armed raids that have plagued communities in both states.
The offensive also led to the destruction of terrorist camps and the recovery of weapons, further weakening the operational capacity of the groups. Security forces say the mission was based on credible intelligence, allowing troops to strike strategically and limit civilian harm.
Residents in affected areas have long faced insecurity due to banditry and insurgent activities. This latest development is being seen as a positive step toward improving safety and rebuilding confidence among local communities.
Military authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining pressure on criminal elements, emphasizing that operations will continue until all threats are neutralized. They also urged citizens to support security agencies by providing timely and accurate information.
While challenges remain, the success of this operation highlights ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity and bring lasting stability to Nigeria’s North-West region.
