TRAVEL AGENTS CALL FOR STRONGER NIGERIA-GHANA TOURISM PARTNERSHIPS
Travel agents and tourism stakeholders from Nigeria and Ghana have called for deeper collaboration to unlock the full potential of tourism between the two West African nations.
At a recent bilateral forum, participants emphasised the need for joint marketing initiatives, simplified visa processes, and improved connectivity to encourage more cross-border travel. They highlighted the rich cultural heritage, historical ties, and diverse attractions that make both countries appealing destinations for regional and international tourists.
The agents noted that stronger partnerships could boost revenue, create jobs, and foster people-to-people connections. They urged governments to support private sector efforts through favourable policies and infrastructure development.
Stakeholders also discussed opportunities in eco-tourism, cultural exchanges, and business travel, believing that coordinated strategies would benefit both economies. Experts believe that leveraging the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework could further facilitate tourism growth.
The forum ended with a commitment from participants to work together towards a more integrated and vibrant tourism corridor between Nigeria and Ghana.
