TRANSPORT WORKERS HAIL ABIODUN’S EMERGENCE AS APC OGUN EAST CONSENSUS CANDIDATE
The National President of the Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners, Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Adebayo Samsudeen Apelogun, has commended the adoption of Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate for the Ogun East Senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 elections.
Apelogun said the decision reflects the confidence of party stakeholders in Abiodun’s leadership and his performance since assuming office as governor.
In a statement on Tuesday, he described the development as a positive step aligned with the expectations of residents in the senatorial district.
He said Abiodun’s administration has delivered notable progress in infrastructure, industrial growth, and transportation development across Ogun State.
“Your Excellency, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on your successful emergence as the consensus candidate of the APC for the Ogun East Senate seat,” he said.
Apelogun added that the governor’s leadership has contributed to improved road networks, housing projects, and economic development in the state, including the establishment of an international airport.
He expressed optimism that Abiodun’s potential move to the Senate would further advance development in Ogun East and strengthen representation at the national level.
According to him, transport operators under ACOMORAN have also benefited from relative stability under the current administration.
The APC had earlier, at a stakeholders’ meeting in Ijebu-Ode, endorsed Abiodun as its consensus candidate for the senatorial race.
The meeting brought together party leaders, former and serving lawmakers, local government officials, and youth and women leaders across the district.
Former Ogun East senator, Lekan Mustapha, said the endorsement was based on Abiodun’s track record and leadership capacity, noting that party leaders would formally communicate the decision to him and support his nomination process.
