Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface, is on the verge of completing a move to AC Milan, but the Serie A club is leaving nothing to chance regarding his fitness.

According to reports, the 24-year-old forward has been subjected to a series of unusually thorough medical tests before sealing his transfer from Bayer Leverkusen.

Milan has already agreed to take Boniface on loan for €5m, with an option to buy for €25m. The Nigerian international arrived in Italy on Friday and was taken to the club’s facilities, the Italian Olympic Committee, and Galeazzi Hospital in Milan for medical checks.

He is also scheduled to undergo further tests today (Saturday), as reported by Football Italia.

The extra caution comes as no surprise, given Boniface’s injury history. The striker previously underwent surgery for a ligament injury in March 2019 and again in December 2020, while also struggling with muscular problems twice last season.

Despite this, Milan remains keen on securing his services, with hopes that Boniface can bring strength, pace, and goals to their attack once the deal is finalized.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
